This is the tale of an Irish father and his 18-year-old daughter embarking on a 900-kilometre journey together across northern Spain along the ancient pilgrim route to the tomb of St James. Peter and Natasha commence their adventure amidst drizzle and wind, scaling Croagh Patrick, Ireland's Holy Mountain in Mayo. Immediately after, they head for the Pyrénées in France to begin their trek on the Camino, the Way of St James, towards Santiago de Compostela.

Their odyssey unfolds as a challenging trek over three mountain ranges, traversing fields, valleys, villages, towns, and cities, leading to the lush countryside and forests of Galicia, and ultimately culminating in Finisterre, the pagan end of the earth. Along their path, they encounter a diverse group of fellow pilgrims—men and women, young and old, hailing from various countries. Together, they share laughter, tears, and moments of high drama, exhilaration, and occasional exhaustion.

Running with the bulls, partaking in lively fiestas, praying with the faithful, and delving into the Camino's rich Christian and pagan history, including its quaint churches and majestic cathedrals, Peter and Natasha experience the pilgrimage's multifaceted dimensions. They find solace in the Spartan pilgrim hostels, appreciating the richness of living simply with minimal possessions, sustaining themselves on a modest budget.

After five weeks of walking, the question lingers—do they still love each other? The answer is an emphatic yes. The bond between this loving, adventurous father and his daughter remains unbroken, and if given the chance, they would embark on this extraordinary journey all over again. Described as "a lovely book for those who have done the Camino," by The Dubliner, and hailed by The Irish Mail on Sunday as more than just a travel book, but a heartwarming story about family, friendship, camaraderie, and embracing the world.
